इन्द्रियाणि मनो बुद्धिरस्याधिष्ठानमुच्यते | एतैर्विमोहयत्येष ज्ञानमावृत्य देहिनम् ||४०||

indriyāṇi mano buddhir asyādhiṣṭhānam ucyate | etair vimohayaty eṣa jñānam āvṛtya dehinam ||40||

इन्द्रियाणि: इन्द्रियाँ; मन: मन; बुद्धि: बुद्धि; अस्य: इस (काम) का; अधिष्ठानम्: स्थान (आश्रय); उच्यते: कहा जाता है; एतै: इनके द्वारा; विमोहयति: मोहित करता है; एष: यह; ज्ञानम्: ज्ञान को; आवृत्य: ढककर; देहिनम्: शरीरधारी को।

३. श्लोक का अनुवाद (Verse Translation)

हिंदी अनुवाद

इन्द्रियाँ, मन और बुद्धि – ये इस (काम) के स्थान (आधार) कहे जाते हैं। इनके द्वारा यह (काम) ज्ञान को ढककर शरीरधारी (जीव) को मोहित करता है।

English Translation

The senses, the mind, and the intellect are said to be its seat. Through these, desire covers knowledge and deludes the embodied soul.

४. विस्तृत व्याख्या एवं भावार्थ (Commentary)

भगवान अब काम के निवास स्थान बताते हैं – इन्द्रियाँ, मन और बुद्धि। यहीं से यह ज्ञान को ढकता है और जीव को मोहित करता है। The Lord now states the abode of desire – senses, mind, and intellect. From there it covers knowledge and deludes the soul.
