कर्म योग (Karma Yoga)

तस्मात्त्वमिन्द्रियाण्यादौ नियम्य भरतर्षभ | पाप्मानं प्रजहि ह्येनं ज्ञानविज्ञाननाशनम् ||४१||

हिंदी अनुवाद: “इसलिए हे भरतश्रेष्ठ! पहले इन्द्रियों को वश में करके, इस ज्ञान-विज्ञान का नाश करने वाले पापी (काम) को नष्ट कर डाल।”

English Translation: Therefore, O best of the Bharatas, first control the senses and then slay this sinful thing (desire) that destroys knowledge and discrimination.

इन्द्रियाणि पराण्याहुरिन्द्रियेभ्यः परं मनः | मनसस्तु परा बुद्धिर्यो बुद्धेः परतस्तु सः ||४२||

हिंदी अनुवाद: “इन्द्रियाँ (शरीर से) श्रेष्ठ कही जाती हैं, इन्द्रियों से मन श्रेष्ठ है, मन से बुद्धि श्रेष्ठ है, और जो बुद्धि से परे है – वह (आत्मा) है।”

English Translation: The senses are said to be superior to the body, the mind is superior to the senses, the intellect is superior to the mind, and that which is superior to the intellect is He (the Self).

एवं बुद्धेः परं बुद्ध्वा संस्तभ्यात्मानमात्मना | जहि शत्रुं महाबाहो कामरूपं दुरासदम् ||४३||

हिंदी अनुवाद: “इस प्रकार बुद्धि से परे (आत्मा) को जानकर, बुद्धि द्वारा मन को स्थिर करके, हे महाबाहो! इस दुर्जय कामरूपी शत्रु को मार डाल।”

English Translation: Thus knowing that which is beyond the intellect, and restraining the mind by the intellect, O mighty-armed, slay this enemy in the form of desire, which is difficult to conquer.
